About
About Remit Brief
Payer changes, explained before they become denials.
Our mission
Remit Brief tracks what commercial insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid change, from fee schedules and prior authorization to coverage policy and claims rules. We explain each change in plain terms, link the source, and say what it means for independent practices and ambulatory surgery centers, and what to do next. Our aim is simple: no practice should learn about a payer change from a denial.
Who we serve: owners, administrators, and billing and revenue cycle teams at independent medical practices and ASCs.
What we promise: every payer change that matters, sourced to the original document, dated, and explained in plain language, with what to do next.
Our standards
- Accuracy first. We would rather publish less than publish something wrong.
- Every item sourced and dated. Each story links to its source and shows its date. Anything unverified is labeled as such.
- Gaps disclosed. If we haven't verified a topic, we say so.
- Opinion is labeled. The Weekly Take is clearly marked OPINION and relies only on facts reported in that week's issue.
Funding and independence
Remit Brief is free to readers and sponsor-supported. Sponsors are always labeled and kept separate from editorial.
No payer sponsors. Remit Brief does not accept sponsorship from payers or insurers.
Our name
Remit Brief was formerly Fed Up & Informed. Past issues remain in the archive.
